Which?, the publication of the Consumers’ Association, have published the results of a survey of more than 32,000 cars. The results show that smart owners in the sample have never been let down by their cars and smart has a record of 100% reliability.
The iconic brand was also shown to be a breakdown-free drive, with owners reporting their cars to be totally dependable.
In our experience, the only time we really see Smarts run into trouble is through neglect and abuse.
It is important that with Smart Cars being a small turbo charged engine, it is highly recommended that they have regular oil changes. This must be with fully synthetic oil and we recommended an oil change is carried out every 9000 miles for a ForTwo, or every 7500 miles on a Roadster.
